On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, Kindy had a visit from Dr Ann Morrice, our Literacy Specialist, helping us with sounding out our letters and writing…..it was very exciting!
Students participated in a Literacy Cycle where we worked together collaboratively to spell out words and write a sentence. Our sentence for Kindy was: “Holly has a red hat”.
Our Kindy kids worked really hard to remember the letters and sounds, to write the words. It was great to see all Kindy kids having a go and working together as a team.

In Kindy we have been loving using the iPads and learning about new apps. Some of our favourites include: Eggy Alphabet, Eggy Numbers, Tangrams, Geoboard and Doodle Buddy.
We have recently been learning how to ‘app smash’ using the camera function on the iPad and the Doodle Buddy app. App smashing is when we use a number of apps at the same time.
Last week’s creation involved our learning of the Olympics. We had to follow a 5 step ‘work flow’ to create our Olympic Doodle Buddy photo. We had to first take a photo of our friend wearing their Olympic medal and RIO torch. Then we wrote our name and drew the Olympic rings, remembering to use the correct colours.
See our amazing app smashing creations below!
Library for all Kindy classes has been changed this semester to Fabulous Fridays!
We had an egg-cellent time at the Easter Hat Parade! Check out our amazing hat creations below:
WOW…. how amazing were our Room 2 Kindy kids last Friday at Assembly! We are extremely proud of everyone for getting up and speaking so confidently and performing their song with lots of enthusiasm.
A big thank you to everyone for all your help and support – we could not have done it with out you!
